The project promises to raise even more throughout the year with auctions for exclusive Yamaha Team guest passes to WorldSBK and MXGP races around Europe plus very special racing memorabilia. Later in 2023, the project will see the launch of a prize draw for an experience of a lifetime with the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team around the Africa Eco Race.
About the partnership
The aim over the three-year partnership is to raise €100k to replace a fleet of ageing Yamaha AG100 motorcycles in The Gambia, used to deliver life-saving medical treatment in some of the most remote areas of Africa. The link-up between Yamaha, Two Wheels for Life and African charity partner Riders for Health, was a stunning success in the first year.
In 2022 a prize draw raised €29k, with the winner taking home a factory Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid Rally bike ridden by Alessandro Botturi in the Africa EcoRace. With the funds raised, 16 AG100 motorcycles have been purchased which are on the way to the Gambia.
Ténéré 40th Anniversary
Yamaha is celebrating the Ténéré’s 40th Anniversary at various Ténéré Spirit events around Europe starting in June 2023. As part of this, The Ténéré Travel Trophy, an adventure travel event for Yamaha Ténéré riders, will this year be raising funds to support Riders for Health powered by Two Wheels for Life. Plus the charity will join Yamaha at events including the Adventure Bike Rider Festival in Warwickshire, UK in June.
Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Rally Team title partner
Riders for Health powered by Two Wheels for Life continues to be title partner of the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Rally Team which just participated in the Morocco Desert Challenge and its rider Pol Tarrés finished on the podium and will compete again in the Africa Eco Race later this year.
