Virtual Races keep MotoGP™ thriving and support Africa during COVID-19

The Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain was run to show solidarity with, and in aid of Two Wheels' fight against Covid-19 and dangerous diseases across Africa.

On Sunday the 3rd of May – the original date for the Spanish GP – The MotoGP™ family joined together for the world’s first broadcast of the Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain in Jerez de la Frontera.

Over one million people tuned in on Facebook on Sunday to watch the stars of MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ compete in a unique three-race online event and join together to raise awareness and much needed funds for Two Wheels’ fight against Covid-19 and dangerous diseases across Africa.

Race fans watched from all around the world and pledged money in support of Two Wheels for Life.The world first Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain was put on in aid of Two Wheels for Life.

Nobody knew quite what to expect but we were so pleased that fans got a feel of the excitement of a real MotoGP and thrilled for Vinales for his win. Funds raised are destined to help towards the delivery of test results, education and equipment to hard to reach communities across a number of countries in sub-Saharan Africa in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and other deadly contagious diseases – all in the name of MotoGP™.
