Film: Riders for Health The Gambia

Film showing the impact of the Riders for Health programme in The Gambia whose work we support.

Two Wheels for life supports this programme and others like it that ensure health workers have fuelled, well maintained motorcycles and other vehicles that can get to the remote areas and get healthcare to those who need it most.

Therese Drammeh, country director for Riders for Health, The Gambia tells us how in Gambia women in labour were regularly taken to hospital in wheelbarrows or donkey cart. And how the programme she runs is working to ensure this is a thing of the past.

The Gambia is a hugely successful programme. It has increased the percentage of under 5’s being routinely immunised, reducing the uptake and spread of disease. But they still need help. The programme is desperate for all-terrain ambulances that can get to villages down dirt tracks in all weather conditions.

If you would like to support the work we do please consider fundraising or donating to us. Your help is so valuable.
