A treasure hunt style ride-out, you decide where to start, and how to get to the finishing point, with plenty of fun along the way! Tickets also include camping and weekend access to the Festival of Motorcycling.

What's it all about?

Whether you ride a Vespa or a Harley, join us for a day of madcap fun, venturing through the English countryside and taking on challenges, before meeting at Leicestershire's Mallory Park for laps of the track (track ticket required) and the chance to join all the fun of Classic Bike Trackdays’ Festival of Motorcycling including camping, live music and much more.

Join big names from the world of motorcycling including MotoGP legend Randy Mamola and former British racer Niall Mackenzie to have fun and raise funds for the only charity that shows that motorcycles save lives, getting vital life-saving healthcare to people across Africa.

Challenges will be set by the likes of instagram biker Harvey Rides Bikes, TT rider Peter Hickman, Two Wheels ambassador and motorcyle racer and adventurer Vanessa Ruck, The Girl on a Bike...plus event partners Bike Shed Moto Co., Beeline, Yamaha, Alpinestars and many more.

How it works

  • - Plan your route.
    Start from any UK location leaving enough time to complete about 10 challenges and arrive at Mallory Park by 3pm.
  • - The Challenges.
    Set by motorcyce personalities, our challenges will test your skill, resourcefulness and ingenuity. You'll get a list in advance of the day - complete as many as you want.
  • - Share.
    Our challengers want to see evidence! It's easy but you'll need your smartphone. We’ll share full details of how to do this before the day.
  • - Win prizes.
    The three riders who complete the most challenges will win, plus everybody will be entered into a draw to win prizes from us and our amazing partners.
  • - Have fun.
    Your ticket includes access to the Festival of Motorcyling at Mallory Park, Sat 16 & Sun 17 with free camping. Enjoy!

    What’s included

    All participants get free entry to The Festival of Motorcycling on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August at Mallory Park where they will join Two Wheels motorcycle celebrities and get refreshments on arrival.

    The festival features static displays and live track sessions showcasing everything from brand new showroom machines to classic & vintage bikes. There’s also action on the dirt, with an adventure bike course and trials area plus special guests and live entertainment on Saturday evening.

    Those that buy track tickets also get the chance to ride the Mallory track.

    FAQs

    When can I access the festival with my The Big Ride ticket?

    Your ticket gives you access to the festival from 3pm on the Saturday.

    How do the tickets with track time work?

    Track time tickets allow you to join some of our motorcycle celebs and other Big Ride participants in a parade lap on arriving at Mallory Park after 3pm on Saturday 16 August. Your track time ticket does not give you access to the track at other times over the festival.

    Are their any rules or restrictions?

    All riders and pillions must complete an indemnity form, and wear full protective clothing on road and track, i.e. full one or two piece leathers / textile abrasion proof motorcycle clothing, gloves, boots and helmet for both riders and pillions. Any riders or pillions wearing non-motorcycle clothing such as jeans or trainers will not be permitted on track.

    Can I do The Big Ride without a full license, just a CBT?

    Yes absolutely! You can’t take part in track but but as long as you follow all the UK rules you can take part in the treasure hunt element of the Big Ride. The below rules are not extensive and it is your responsiblity to make yourself aware of the legal restrictions to your lincence.

    If you complete your CBT at 16: If you complete your CBT over age of 16:
    You can ride a low-power moped of up to 50cc (maximum speed 28mph) You can ride a 125cc motorcycle with a maximum speed of 60mph
    You will have to ride with L-plates on You will have to ride with L-plates on
    You are not allowed to carry a pillion passenger You are not allowed to carry a pillion passenger
    You are not allowed to ride on motorways You are not allowed to ride on motorways
    Can young pillion riders  complete the laps on circuit?

    Those under the age of 15 years will not be able to complete the laps on circuit for insurance purposes.

    What protective clothing is required on the track parade?

    All riders & pillions must wear full protective clothing on track, i.e. full one or two piece leathers / textile abrasion proof motorcycle clothing, gloves, boots & helmet. Any riders or pillions wearing non-motorcycle clothing such as jeans or trainers will not be permitted on track.

    What safety measures are there?
    It is your responsibility to make sure you are legal on the motorcycle you are riding. Normal road laws apply on your journey to Mallory Park, please comply with them at all times.
    What time should I arrive at Mallory Park?
    Plan your own route to Mallory Park from your starting point. The only condition is that you arrive by 3pm so give yourself plenty of time.
    What are the timings on the day and does it matter if I’m late for the 3pm deadline at Mallory Park?
    Yes you need to arrive for  3pm for the chance to have your completed challenges accounted for by our team, meet celebs, win prizes, get track time and more. Timings for the day are:
    12.30am – Challenges
    You’ll receive your challenges the night before so you can start planning first thing,1pm – 3pmArrival
    Our team will greet you at Mallory Park and check through your phone “evidence” of the challenges you completed.
    4.45  Track time
    For The Big Ride participants who have purchased track time tickets.
    6pm – Awards Ceremony
    On the main stage with Randy Mamola for all Big Ride participants.
    Do I need to complete all the challenges?
    Not at all. It’s all about having fun. Complete as many or few as you’d like.
    Can I do the ride with my bike club or group?
    Absolutely! If we get enough bike clubs signed up we’ll create some special challenges and prizes for groups so let us know if you’re coming by emailing info@twowheelsforlife.org.uk.
