A new Friday night auction at ABR festival will raise funds for Two Wheels for Life, a charity that uses motorcycles to ensure the delivery of life saving healthcare to hard-to-reach communities across sub-Saharan Africa.
What makes a good auction item
The best auction items are unique, imaginative, and importantly, don’t have a fixed monetary value as if it does then bidding doesn’t make sense.
What are the best auction items
Books, clothing, bike parts signed by celebrities, original artwork, items from well known trips, chances to see behind the scenes, special meals and riding experiences especially with an interesting vehicle, a personality or in a usually off-limits place. For instance, offered by the team at ABR is the opportunity to join an exclusive ride and appear in a future issue we scope out a new route for our magazine.
Does it need to have a high value?
With auctions you never know how much money an item will raise until poeple start bidding as it’s all based on it appealing to somebody in the room. But we’re looking for items with an estimated value between £50-3000 to offer everybody, no matter the size of their wallet, the chance to bid on something.
Does it have to be motorcycle themed?
Goodies from beyond the motorcycle world are also welcome, such as flights/hotel stays/concert tickets etc. so rack your brains and your contacts list to see what you can come up with!
Why donate an auction item?
By contributing an item you will feature in film & photo and write-ups of the auction on ours and Two Wheel’s channels. Plus you’ll be showing that you care about supporting motorcycles to do good in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. All those who contribute can receive a certificate from the charity to recognise your contribution.
You can even send a spokesperson to join us on stage to share more about you or your organisation
